Carefully crafted lyrics delivered by lilting harmonies drenched in reverb & beauty
Based out of a tragic mustard coloured 1979 campervan, East-Yorkshire, Crooked Weather play rock infused folk music. The sound is lead by carefully crafted lyrics delivered by the lilting harmonies of Holly and Will. Their original music, although steeped in the folk revival of the 60's and 70's, has a raw, modern edge and is augmented by Tom & Dave: a fierce rhythm section.
In the last 2 year Holly and Will have toured the lengths and breadths of Ireland, New Zealand, U.S., England and Holland. They debuted as a full band at Kent's Summer Of Love Festival 2016, and continue to perform at many notable venues such as the main stage of Humber Street Sesh and BBC Introducing.
Thirsty for the road again, a second international tour is looming large for the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018 with a highly anticipated new release in tow.
"Crooked Weather come from the same fertile ground which gave the world David Crosby’s immortal If I Could Only Remember My Name. They are indie meets World music meets traditional British folk. Think a contemporary Incredible String Band with a 21st century mindset or the acoustic side of Led Zeppelin.”
- Sid Griffin (Bob Dylan Biographer // The Coal Porters)
"18½ minutes of pure indulgent joy. Beautiful virtuoso guitar. One of the most delightfully rich and rewarding female voices in folk."
- Chris Jones (Summer of Love Festival)
on The Braeburn Sessions
"Melodic and magnificent, this music has so much heart it’s alive."
